The 21.1km route is widely regarded as one of the most scenic trails in this region and will take runners through the indigenous forest surrounding the campus.
“Although it is a challenging route, it is not too difficult; therefore we invite both runners and walkers to participate,” said Hugo Loubser of the university’s Sport Office.
All participants who successfully complete the half-marathon will receive a special NMMU medal.
Registration will take place at the campus’ rugby field on the day of the event from 06:45 for the 08:00 start.
To turn the day into a family outing, the university added a 5km fun run/walk to the programme. This race will start at 08:10.
