Carina Becker

Photograph: Carina Becker, NMMU George MSc student, was recently awarded a prize for the best student presentation during the Thicket Forum 2012 – an annual event hosted by Rhodes University and Living Lands (part of the PRESENCE network).

Her presentation titled “The influence of selected soil properties on survival and distribution of Portulacaria afra",  was based on her research for her master’s studies. Her prize was a book by Jeanette Eve called - A literary guide to the Eastern Cape. It was handed over by Dieter Van den Broeck from Living Lands, and Thicket forum organiser.
