Change the world

02/11/2018

Due to the fires in the George area, which had also impacted our students at George Campus, the Executive Committee of Senate (ECS) had approved that the writing of the examinations (George Campus Students), which were scheduled for 31 October – 3 November 2018, be deferred to the period: 21 – 24 November. This effectively means that the (normal) exam period stretches from 31 October to 24 November 2018.

This was done in order to allow students adequate time to resettle back into normality.

However, some students may already have made travel arrangements and may not be in a position to write examinations during this extended period.

Students who have been affected by the fires to the extent that they are not able to write an examination may apply for a concession to sit for the said examination during the re-examination period in January 2019.

If students find themselves in this position, they will not be disadvantaged and will have the opportunity to write special examinations in January 2019. However, it will be essential to apply for this concession in writing.

Applications (see the attached form), must be submitted to Desmond.Scholtz@mandela.ac.za at the George Campus Examination & Graduation Office on or before Tuesday, 27 November 2018.

We wish all students well with their examination preparations.
