The speaker, Prof Jean Greyling, who heads up NMMU’s Department of Computing Sciences, has a keen interest in promoting computing careers as a choice to consider. He obtained his PhD on the selection criteria for success in computer science studies and recently supervised the doctoral research (DBA) of Prof Andre Calitz, also from NMMU. This research focused on the ICT skills shortages in the country and the findings have attracted broad media interest nationally.
