Change the world

The annual NMMU George half-marathon is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25 August at the university campus at Saasveld.

The 21.1km route is regarded as one of the most scenic trails in the region and will take runners through the indigenous forest surrounding the campus.

“The route is a challenging one, yet not too difficult and walkers are welcome to participate,” said Hugo Loubser of the university’s Sport Office.

All successful finishers of the half-marathon will receive a special NMMU medal.

Registration will take place at the campus’ rugby field on the day of the event from 06:45 for the 08:00 start.

To turn the day into a family outing, the university added a 5km fun run/walk to the programme. This race will start at 08:10.
