Change the world

06/09/2023

In a vibrant celebration of Arbour Week, celebrated in the first week of September, Mandela University’s Forestry Association hosted an event to echo environmental preservation and sustainability at the George Campus rugby field.

The event, themed "Plant a tree, save the lungs of the world", brought together students, staff, and community members in a collective effort.

A time to reconnect with nature

Arbour Week, planting trees every year, reminds us of the critical role trees play in our ecosystem and brings together people from all walks of life. The Association also hosted engaging workshops and presentations on the significance of trees in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and supporting biodiversity.

A step towards a greener future

The success of this event reminds us that every small action counts and we look forward to nurture our planet's "lungs" by planting many more trees.
